Graphite electrode vacuum furnace is a furnace chamber that uses a vacuum system (composed of vacuum pump, vacuum measuring device, vacuum valve and other components carefully assembled) to discharge part of the material in the furnace chamber, so that the pressure in the furnace chamber is less than a standard atmospheric pressure, and the space in the furnace chamber is thus in a vacuum state. This is a vacuum furnace.
Graphite electrode vacuum furnace is a device for heating in a vacuum environment. In the furnace chamber sealed by a metal cover or a quartz glass cover, it is connected to the high vacuum pump system by a pipe. The vacuum degree of the furnace chamber can reach 133×(10~10)Pa. The heating system in the furnace can be directly heated by a resistance furnace wire (such as tungsten wire) or by high-frequency induction heating. The maximum temperature can reach about 3000℃. It is mainly used for ceramic sintering, vacuum smelting, degassing of electric vacuum parts, annealing, brazing of metal parts, and ceramic-metal sealing.
Advantages of graphite electrode vacuum furnace
1) Completely eliminates the oxidation and decarburization of the workpiece surface during heating, and obtains a clean surface without a metamorphic layer. This has a great impact on the improvement of cutting performance of tools that only grind one side during sharpening (such as twist drills that expose the decarburized layer on the groove surface directly to the cutting edge after grinding).
2) No pollution to the environment, no need for three waste treatment.
3) The accuracy of furnace temperature measurement and monitoring is significantly improved. The indication value of the thermocouple is ±1.5°C with the furnace temperature. However, the temperature difference between different parts of a large number of workpieces in the furnace is large. If rarefied gas forced circulation is used, it can still be controlled within the temperature difference range of ±5°C.
4) High degree of mechatronics. On the basis of improved temperature measurement and control accuracy, workpiece movement, air pressure regulation, power regulation, etc. can be pre-programmed, and quenching and tempering can be implemented step by step.
5) Energy consumption is significantly lower than that of salt bath furnaces. Modern advanced vacuum furnace heating chambers use insulation walls and barriers made of excellent insulation materials, which can highly concentrate electric heat energy in the heating chamber, with significant energy-saving effects.
